Résumé

Lula Landry, jeune mannequin en pleine gloire, est retrouvée morte au pied de son domicile, décédée à la suite d'une chute du balcon de son appartement situé au troisième étage. L'enquête policière conclut à un suicide. Mais John Bristow, frère de la défunte, est persuadé qu'il s'agit d'un meurtre. Il engage alors un détective privé, Cormoran Strike, ancien ami de jeunesse de Charlie Bristow, son frère aîné décédé à l'âge de dix ans. Aidé de sa jeune et toute nouvelle secrétaire Robin Ellacott, Cormoran va peu à peu détricoter les mailles de cette affaire plus complexe qu'elle n'en avait l'air au premier abord.

Ce que j'en ai pensé

Évidemment, vous savez que ce livre est de JKR (si vous ne le savez pas... Hum qui êtes-vous ? Et de quelle planète venez-vous ?). La maman d'Harry Potter a ici complètement changé de style. Elle s'essaye au policier et c'est réussi !! L'intrigue est maîtrisée, JKR nous tient en haleine jusqu'à la fin de son roman. Qui a tué Lula et surtout pourquoi ? Car on le sait tous que Lula a été tuée, quant au nom du tueur, j'en avais une petite idée. Cependant, je n'ai pas pu deviner le mobile du crime et le suspense a été tenu jusqu'à la fin. JKR nous dépeint des personnages très humains, très attachants et intéressants. J'ai un petit faible pour Guy Somé, le couturier, complètement loufoque et excentrique. Je l'adoore !!! Un très bon roman policier avec lequel on passe un bon moment. JKR n'a pas fini de nous surprendre, une écrivaine hors du commun !!

Summary

After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Strike is down to one client, and creditors are calling. He has also just broken up with his longtime girlfriend and is living in his office.

Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: His sister, thelegendary supermodel Lula Landry, known to her friends as the Cuckoo, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.

My thought

Obviously, you know that this book is by JKR (if you do not know ... Uh who are you? And what planet are you from?). The mother of Harry Potter has completely changed of style. She tried the polar and the result is great!! The plot is mastered, JKR keeps us in suspense until the end of her novel. Who killed Lula and especially why? We all know that Lula was killed, as to the name of the killer, I had an idea. However, I could not guess the motive for the crime and the suspense was held until the end. JKR depicts very human characters, very endearing and interesting. I have a crush on Guy Somé, the fashion designer, completely wacky and eccentric. I looove him!!! A very good detective novel with which you'll have a good time. JKR has not finished surprising us, an extraordinary writer !!
