Ce que j'en ai pensé

En commençant ce roman, je ne savais pas vraiment où cela allait me mener. Et jusqu'à la fin, ce sentiment déroutant m'est resté. Après avoir tourné la dernière page, je me suis demandée quel était le but de l'auteur. La réponse que j'ai trouvé est que ce livre est le récit d'une quête mystique. A travers le personnage d'Athéna, une femme étrange, presque illuminée, c'est une recherche de sens, de retour à la nature, de retour aux origines à laquelle nous assistons. Ce roman pose la question du dépassement des grandes religions d'aujourd'hui et du retour à des croyances anciennes selon lesquelles nature et amour gouvernent le monde. Les religions principales enfermées dans leur carcan de dogmes inflexibles deviendraient obsolètes. Athéna, prophétesse évoquant la Pythie de Delphes, ouvre la voie vers une nouvelle spiritualité dont les rituels sont la danse, la calligraphie et le silence. Elle prône une foi dans la nature et dans l'amour, un rejet des normes étouffant la société. Dans ce tourbillon de mystère qui emporte la jeune femme, son point d'ancrage est son fils. L'amour, toujours l'amour, lanterne qui éclaire la route d'Athéna à travers les doutes, les siens et ceux des autres. Paulo Coelho crée un personnage mystique porteur d'une foi nouvelle qui m'évoque la Wicca, mouvement religieux païen. La sorcière de Portobello déconcerte, intrigue, interroge. Un roman singulier qui laisse un goût indéfinissable. Un récit initiatique.

My thought

Beginning this book, I had no clue where it would lead me. And until the end, this confusing feeling remained. After turning the last page, I asked myself what was the aim of it. The answer I found is its the story of a mystical quest. Through the character of Athena, a strange, almost illuminated woman, it's a search of meaning, of a return to nature, of a return to origins we witness. This novel raises the question of the overcoming of great actual religions and the question of the return to ancient beliefs according to which nature and love govern the world. The principal religions locked into their burdensome inflexible dogmas would have become obsolete. Athena, prophetess evoking the pythia of Delphi, opens the way to a new spirituality whose rituals are dance, calligraphy and silence. She extols a faith in nature and love, a reject of the standards stifling society. In this mystery whirlwind of mystery that sweeps the young woman, her anchor is her son. Love, always love, a lantern guiding the path of Athena through doubts, hers and others'. Paulo Coelho creates a mystical character holding a new faith that makes me think of Wicca, a Pagan religious movement. The witch of Portobello disconcerts, intrigues, questions.
