SYNOPSIS

Elizabeth Sloane est une femme d'influence brillante et sans scrupule qui opère dans les coulisses de Washington. Face au plus grand défi de sa carrière, elle va redoubler de manigances et manipulations pour atteindre une victoire qui pourrait s'avérer éclatante. Mais les méthodes dont elle use pour parvenir à ses fins menacent à la fois sa carrière et ses proches. Miss Sloane pourrait bien avoir enfin trouvé un adversaire à sa taille.

CE QUE J'EN AI PENSE

Elizabeth Sloane est une femme brillante, manipulatrice, presque machiavélique. Avec elle nous découvrons le monde cruel et sans pitié des lobbyistes. Miss Sloane doit trouver le moyen de remporter la majorité des voix pour un projet de loi en faveur d'une régulation plus stricte de la vente d'armes aux USA. Elle doit faire face à son ancien cabinet qui a l'avantage du nombre et l'avantage financier. Mais Mlle Sloane a plus d'un tour dans son sac. Elle est imprévisible et féroce. Cependant malgré sa froideur et son insensibilité apparente, elle a ses démons ; sont travail passe avant tout même sa santé et elle dépend de ses pilules pour tenir le rythme effréné qu'elle s'impose. Elle est incapable d'avoir une relation sociale normale, n'a que des relations professionnelles. C'est une handicapée des sentiments mais c'est en partie ce qui la rend si efficace. 

Jennifer Chastain capture l'écran et incarne son personnage dans toute sa densité, sa complexité, cette part intime d'humanité fragile et vulnérable et cette part publique de leader, cerveau brillant, stratégique et calculateur. 

De plus, c'était très intéressant pour moi de voir ce film en rapport avec cette tuerie qui a eu lieu dans un lycée aux Etats-Unis. Ce drame remet en effet en question le deuxième amendement qui autorise le port d'armes pour tout citoyen américain.
Pour conclure, Miss Sloane nous tient en haleine et nous surprend jusqu'à la toute fin. Epoustouflant.

MY THOUGHTS

Elizabeth Sloane is a brilliant, manipulative, almost machiavellian woman. Following her, we discover the cruel and merciless world of lobbyists. Miss Sloane must find a way to obtain the majority of votes for a bill whose aim is to tighten arms sales in the USA. She has to deal with her old cabinet which has the benefit of number and financial strength. But Miss Sloane has more than one trick up her sleeve. She is unpredictable and fierce. However, despite her coldness and apparent insensitivity, she has her demons: she is fully engaged into her work, putting aside her health and she depends on her pills to keep up her frantic pace. She is unable to have a normal social relationship, she only has professional ones. She has a problem with feelings but that's partly why she is so efficient.

Jennifer Chastain captures the screen and embodies her character in all its density, its complexity with both this intimate, fragile and vulnerable part of humanity and this public side as a leader, a brilliant, strategic and calculator brain.

Moreover it was very interesting for me to see this film in connection with the slaughter which occured in a highschool of the USA. This drama puts into question the second amendment that allows the carrying of weapons for any US Citizen. 

To conclude, Miss Sloane keeps surprising us until the very end. Truly mind-blowing.
