The Drama n'est pas une comédie romantique. On n'en ressort pas avec cette familière sensation de bonheur et de légèreté. Au contraire, The Drama est un film que l'on sent dans ses tripes et qui reste avec nous longtemps après. Ce genre de film qui pénètre au plus profond de notre être. Si les émotions sont brutes, la narration est parfaitement maîtrisée. On regarde ce couple d'apparence parfaite vaciller au bord d'un précipice alors que le pire secret de la fiancée est révélé quelques jours avant le mariage, révélation qui fait voler en éclats leur cocon douillet. The Drama pose deux questions. La première : une personne est-elle définie par son passé ? La seconde : peut-on poursuivre la construction d'une relation quand il s'avère que l'une des fondations recèle un noir secret ? Le dilemme moral posé par ce film est très intéressant et touche à plusieurs problématiques sociétales qui font que cette histoire résonne en nous. Les acteurs sont prodigieux dans la justesse de leur interprétation. La photographie est travaillée avec soin et rend ce film d'une beauté étonnante. J'ai beaucoup apprécié aussi l'ironie des répliques. C'est cru et brutal, captivant et bouleversant. The Drama pousse à la réflexion et est d'un réalisme humain saisissant. Je recommande l'expérience.

MY THOUGHTS

The Drama is not a romantic comedy. You don’t come away from it with that familiar sense of happiness and light-heartedness. On the contrary, The Drama is a film that hits you in the gut and stays with you long afterwards. It’s the sort of film that penetrates deep into your very being. Whilst the emotions are raw, the storytelling is perfectly masterful. We watch this seemingly perfect couple teetering on the edge of a precipice as the bride’s worst secret is revealed just days before the wedding, a revelation that shatters their cosy cocoon. The Drama poses two questions. The first: is a person defined by their past? The second: can we continue to build a relationship when it turns out that one of its foundations harbours a dark secret? The moral dilemma posed by this film is fascinating and touches on several societal issues that make this story resonate with us. The actors are superb in the accuracy of their performances. The cinematography is meticulously crafted, lending the film a striking beauty. I also greatly appreciated the irony in the dialogue. It is raw and brutal, captivating and deeply moving. The Drama provokes thought and possesses a striking human realism. I highly recommend it.
