J'ai pleuré à de nombreuses reprises en regardant Miss Americana. Parce que ce documentaire est rempli d'émotions qui trouvent un écho chez moi et je pense qu'il peut trouver un écho chez toutes les femmes.
J'ai toujours beaucoup aimé Taylor Swift, ces chansons sont un monde riche en couleurs, en émotions et riche de sens. Ces textes sont proches de nous, proches de ce que l'on vit et il est si facile de s'y identifier. Ces performances sont juste incroyables et j'adore ces costumes de scène.
Dans ce documentaire, nous découvrons les multiples facettes de cette artiste extraordinaire, de la star parfaite et adulée, à la femme intelligente et engagée en passant par l'humaine vulnérable. Miss Americana nous montre toute l'humanité de cette artiste qui a connu le succès alors qu'elle était encore très jeune. Depuis ses débuts, Taylor Swift a toujours essayé de plaire, d'être une gentille fille, d'être la définition de la perfection. Jusqu'à ce qu'elle se rende compte que malgré tous ses efforts, il est possible de susciter des critiques et même de la haine. S'il y a bien une chose que l'on peut retenir de son parcours, c'est que cela ne sert à rien de passer sa vie à essayer de répondre aux attentes de tout le monde, de ne pas faire de vague, d'être lisse car il y aura toujours quelqu'un qui trouvera à y redire et l'on ne peut faire dépendre son bonheur de l'opinion qu'ont les gens de nous. La vague de haine qu'a subie Taylor Swift est révoltante. Démultiplié par la célébrité de la chanteuse, j'ai trouvé cet acharnement odieux. Comment l'être humain peut-il se montrer aussi cruel ? Pourquoi autant de personnes passent-elles du temps à humilier publiquement quelqu'un ? Je trouve Taylor Swift d'autant plus admirable de s'être relevée après avoir complètement modifié son système de croyance, après avoir renoncé à vivre pour les autres et commencé à vivre pour elle-même.
Ce qui ressort de ce documentaire, c'est le sexisme auquel Taylor Swift a été confrontée de la part d'hommes mais aussi de femmes ce que je trouve d'autant plus déplorable. Tout d'abord, Kanye West qui lui arrache le micro des mains alors qu'elle reçoit une récompense pour signifier qu'il pense qu'elle ne mérite pas ce trophée. Une humiliation absolument dégoûtante. Puis, la dégradation qu'il lui fait subir dans l'une de ses chansons où il suggère que la chanteuse et lui devraient coucher ensemble, où il la traite de "bitch" (sans l'avoir prévenue contrairement à ce qui avait été suggérée à l'époque) et se justifie en disant qu'il l'a rendue célèbre. Etrangement, l'affaire s'est retournée contre Taylor Swift qui a été accusée de mensonges, d'utiliser sa vie amoureuse pour améliorer son image médiatique et on lui a également reproché le nombre de relations qu'elle a eues. Je trouve cela assez épatant que l'on réussisse à rendre coupable la victime d'une insulte publique. Je suis également révoltée par le fait qu'un homme ayant de multiples relations soit jugé bien moins sévèrement qu'une femme dans le même cas, fait accepté dans la société depuis la nuit des temps. Taylor Swift a également subi une agression sexuelle. J'ai été particulièrement émue lorsqu'elle témoigne du procès qui l'a opposée à un DJ lui ayant attrapé les fesses. La chanteuse a finalement emporté ce procès mais ce n'est pas cette sensation qu'elle a eue dans ce tribunal mais plutôt un sentiment d'humiliation face aux mensonges et aux déformations des faits du camp adverse alors qu'elle avait sept témoins et une photographie faveur en sa faveur. Elle souligne la chance qu'elle a eu d'avoir été crue et évoque ceux qui ne sont pas écoutés, ceux qui n'ont personne pour témoigner en leur faveur et qui sont humiliés. J'ai trouvé son témoignage extrêmement poignant.
De même quand elle nous parle de la place des femmes dans l'industrie de la musique, qui doivent sans cesse se réinventer pour continuer à plaire tandis que les hommes n'en ont pas besoin. Ses mots mettent en lumière le fait qu'encore aujourd'hui, les femmes doivent prouver qu'elles ont de la valeur, prouver qu'elles méritent leur place bien plus que les hommes n'ont à le faire.
Ainsi, Miss Americana n'est pas seulement un documentaire du parcours de Taylor Swift mais aussi un témoignage féministe de la place de la femme dans notre société. J'ai trouvé ce film très inspirant car il invite les femmes à s'affirmer, à oser, à ne pas se soucier du regard des autres, à ne pas avoir honte de leur corps et de leurs opinions et à réaliser leurs rêves. Enfin Miss Americana m'a confortée dans le fait que j'aime Taylor Swift !

I cried many times watching Miss Americana. Because this documentary is full of emotions that find an echo in me in all women.
I always liked Taylor Swift, her songs are a real mood full of colors and emotions, rich in meaning. Her texts are close to us, close to what we live and it's so easy to identify to them. She is an amazing performer and I love her scene costumes.
In this documentary, we discover the many facets of this extraordinary artist, from the perfect and adored star, to the intelligent and committed woman to the vulnerable human. Miss Americana really shows us the humanity of this singer who knew success while she was still young. From the beginning, Taylor Swift has always tried to please, to be the nice girl, to be the definition of perfection. Until she realized that no matter how much you try you can still generate criticism and even hatred. If there is one thing we can learn from her journey is that it is useless to spend your life trying to meet everyone's expectations because you won't and there is always be someone to disapprove. We just cannot let our happiness depends on what others think about us. The wave of hatred Taylor Swift endured is revolting. Multiplied by the singer's fame, I found this doggedness hateful. How can human beings be so cruel to one another? Why so many people use their time humiliating someone publicly? I think Taylor Swift is all the more admirable for rising up again after that, having change her whole belief system, giving up living for others and beginning to live for herself instead.
What emerges from this documentary is the sexism that Taylor Swift has faced from men and even women, which is deplorable. First Kanye West rips the microphone out of her hands as she receives a reward to tell the audience he thinks she basically stole the trophee from Beyonce who deserved it more. An absolutely disgusting humiliation. Then how he degrades her in one of his songs suggesting the singer should sleep with him, Calling her a "bitch" (without having warned her about the insult contrary to what was suggested at the time) and saying he made her famous denying her talent and hard-work. Strangely, the case turned against Taylor Swift who was accused of lying, of using her love life to improve her mediatic image and who was blamed for the number of relationships she had. I find it quite astounding that we are able to convict the victim of a vile public insult. I'm also appalled by the fact that a man who had multiple relationships is judged much less severely than a woman in the same case, idea which has been unfortunately accepted in society since the dawn of time and for way too long. Taylor Swift was also sexually assaulted. I was particularly moved when she speaks about the trial against the DJ who grabbed her butt. The singer finally won the trial but that's not the feeling she had in the court but rather a sentiment of humiliation in front of the lies and the distortions of the facts of the opposing side while she had seven witnesses and a photography backing up what she was saying. She points out the luck she had to believed and evokes those who are not, those who have noone to testify for them and are just humiliated. I found her testimony very upsetting.
The same is true when she speaks about the place of women in the music industry, who constantly have to reinvent themselves to continue to please whereas men don't need to. She highlights the fact that even today a woman have to prove her value, that she deserves her place much more than a man do.
Thus, Miss Americana is not only about the Journey of Taylor Swift but also a feminist documentary about the place of women in our society. I think this film is very inspiring, inviting women to assert themselves, to dare, not to care about what others think, not to be ashamed of their body and opinions and to realize their dreams. Finally Miss Americana strenghtens me in the fact that I love Taylor Swift!
