Au cœur de l’Islande, il y a un village. Dans ce village, vivent des âmes à la fois banales et originales. Ce roman nous raconte leur histoire. Le narrateur s’adresse directement à nous lecteur. Il y a une poésie dans les mots de ce livre, une poésie de l’ordinaire. A travers ses mots emplis de sensibilité et de douceur, l’écrivain nous offre la beauté authentique de chaque habitant.  On nous raconte tout : la joie, la peine, le deuil, la solitude, l’amour, le drame. C’est une véritable fresque humaine à la fois simple et complexe. C’est beau, c’est touchant, c’est profond. Un pur plaisir que ce livre qui est un véritable morceau d’humanité. J’ai tout simplement adoré. Je vous le recommande vivement.

MY THOUGHTS

In the heart of Iceland, there is a village. In this village live souls who are both mundane and original. This novel tells their story. The narrator speaks directly to the reader. There is a poetry in the words of this book, a poetry of the ordinary. Through words filled with sensitivity and gentleness, the writer offers us the authentic beauty of each inhabitant.  We are told everything: joy, sorrow, grief, solitude, love, drama. It's a veritable human fresco, both simple and complex. It is beautiful, touching and profound. This book is a pure pleasure, a real piece of humanity. I simply adored it. I highly recommend it.
